NEVER joke with someone about something they used to have a problem with. Like a legitimate issue that made them once forget who they even were.  If you’ve never been in the position where you’ve felt completely numb and contemplated taking your own life, you obviously have no place in joking to someone about a sensitive subject in their past. And if you were in that position you would know that it’s not cool.
